We were excited to jump into this project after the success of the BC Farmers’ Market Trail. With the goal to further support its 145 members, the BC Association of Farmers’ Markets came to us to shoot, creative direct, and produce this documentary series.
The BC Farmers’ Market Trail Stories is a series of 11 short documentary videos featuring farmers from different regions around the province. The project aims to promote sustainable agriculture by delivering a look into the lives of BC Farmers, and how they provide for their communities.
Our creative team collaborated with the BC Association of Farmers’ Market members to bring these videos to life. We travelled across the province, visiting a selection of farm vendors and farmers markets, conducting insightful interviews, and capturing stunning video and photography. The end result with the assistance of our production team is 11 vignettes that invite viewers to explore BC through the lens of those who provide so much nourishment for it.

“In support of over 145 BC Association of Farmers' Markets members, we dedicated our 2021/22 marketing resources to collaborating with The Number on a series of short documentary videos.
We collaborated with The Number on the messaging and subject matter of the videos, and set them in the right direction – and from there we let them lead. The result is a series of a dozen beautiful captured, emotional, and informative stories promoting not just the individual farm vendors, but the farmers' markets, communities, and regions as a whole.”Heather O'Hara Executive Director BC Association of Farmers' Markets
