An exploration into the incentives and inspiration behind these alternative structures built from sustainable and natural materials, Groundwork provides an opportunity to meet the great minds behind the rebels, residents and builders.

We travelled throughout BC learning and documenting the challenges of heating a house in the winters of Nelson and keeping a cob home dry during the wet springs on Mayne Island. These innovative thinkers are determined to buck the conventional trends of cheap and easy construction, and discovering just how comfortable and livable a sustainable home can be.
